Top Stadiums for Major Football Events in Orlando this Season

Top Stadiums for Major Football Events in Orlando this Season

Aside from its theme parks, one of the things to do in Orlando that you shouldn’t miss is watching a great game of all-American Football. Whether it’s professional football or college football, you’re in for some real exciting action and entertainment.
Catch the next Major football event in one of these best stadiums in Orlando
If you are a football fan, there are several options for you near Orlando.

Let’s take a look at the stadiums these popular football teams near Orlando play in and their schedules:

Location: 4201 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33607

This stadium, also known as “the Ray Jay,” is one of the most beautiful stadiums in NFL. The Ray Jay looks like something straight out of the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean,” with it’s pirate ship theme and decor. One of the coolest and most striking features of the Ray Jay is the 103-foot pirate ship replica made of steel and concrete located at the end zone.  Its cannon fires soft rubber footballs and confetti each time the Bucs scores a point, so make sure your ears are ready for the loud sound of the cannon firing!

It is home to the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the NCAA's South Florida Bulls football team.

Guests love watching games in the big and comfy seats that provide excellent views from any location.

Though the venue can be considered a cross between a theme park and a stadium, football fans still go there for some serious football games. A trip to the Raymond James Stadium for a Bucs game is well worth your vacation in Orlando.

Their pre-season games run from August to September while the Regular games run from September to December.

Location: Gator Bowl, Jacksonville, FL

A day trip to one of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ NFL football games is another fun item you could add to your itinerary for your vacation in Orlando. Their home is the Gator Bowl, or EverBank Field - a beautiful stadium built in the 1990s on the bank of the the St. John’s river. The Gator Bowl is just a 2.5-hour drive from Orlando if you take I-4 to Daytona Beach and then I-95 up to Jacksonville, then follow the signs to The Landing.

Make sure to arrive early for a pre-game experience at “The Landing” down the street. Choose from several restaurants, bars, and stores where you can dine, drink, and shop in a mall-type setting until the game kick-off approaches.

During the game, check out “The Bud Zone,” an end zone sports bar where you can watch other games on the TV while enjoying a drink. All seats offer ample leg rooms and great views.

There is a scheduled bus service available from the Orlando tourist areas where game tickets are included in the fare.

Catching a Jaguars game is a great way to spend your Sunday!

Their pre-season games run from August to September while the Regular games run from September to January.

Location: 400 W Church St 200, Orlando, FL 32801

The Amway Center is home of the Orlando Predators, a professional football team of the Arena Football League (AFL). The Orlando Predators is one of the most successful teams in the history of AFL.

Traditionally, American football is played outdoors but the AFL has succeeded in providing the same thrilling football experience inside an arena.

The intimate atmosphere of watching games inside the arena gives football fans a closer look at the many great AFL players.

The Amway Center, which was awarded the sports facility of the year for 2012, has one of the largest Jumbotrons among arenas in the world.

The Amway Center provides guests an enjoyable AFL game experience with its many amenities like merchandise shops, lounge, restaurants and kids zone.

Last August 2013, Orlando was awarded the AFL championship game.

They have a game on August 15 against the Jacksonville Sharks.

Location: University of Central Florida, 4465 Knights Victory Way, Orlando, FL 32816

When it comes to College and University Football, Americans take their games seriously and Orlando is no exception. Communities and towns are big on supporting their local college and university football teams as much as they support professional teams.

Most of their popularity comes from the skill and ability of the future pro-athlete students who have big dreams of becoming athletes beyond college.

The experience and atmosphere in college and university football games is charged with excitement and with cheerleaders and school bands dancing, cheering, and playing music to further excite the huge crowds of students and alumni who cheer with pride for their school’s team. More than a game, college football has become a deep-rooted tradition in Northern America.

Since their beginnings in 1979, the UCF Knights have brought a winning tradition to Orlando with their games played at Bright House Networks Stadium located in the University of Central Florida in Orlando. From their beginnings as a division III team to their inclusion in the Big East Conference for the 2013 season, the UCF Knights have brought several division and Conference titles and have won 5 bowl games.

The UCF Knights play from September until December, with a possible game in the Bowl at the end of the season.

If you love football and would like to experience an exceptional football experience while on vacation in Orlando, attending a UCF Knights Football game is a must!

Their games run from August to November.

Whether you’re a fan of NFL, AFL, or College football, every game promises a unique, exciting, and action-packed experience that you won’t get from rides at a theme park so make sure to reserve your tickets to a football sporting event in Orlando now!
