Sensational Salads - Afternoon

On August 11 from 2:30PM to 4:30PM, there will be a salad discussion at the UF/IFAS Extension Seminole County where you get to learn how to add variety in your salads and how to get even more nutrition from them. Summer Nights at Seaworld
Seaworld will continue to feature Summer of Mako until August 7. This event encourages you and other families to take action in protecting the ocean. Mako, the tallest, fastest and longest rollercoaster in Orlando, also awaits guests looking for a thrill. Family Fun Night at The South Creek Library
The South Creek Library will be hosting Family Fun Night on August 3 and August 17 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM. This event is a perfect time to bond and socialize over a good board game. Children and adults of all ages are invited to participate.

Throwback Thursdays at Happy Days Arcade
Happy Days Arcade gives you Throwback Thursdays where you can enjoy playing your favorite arcade games while enjoying hits from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, and 2000’s. As part of this event, tokens purchased for $20 will be doubled and will include a raffle ticket for a chance to win up to 20,000 points. Admission to Old Town is free, so come to the Happy Days Arcade on July 21, and 28 from 7:00PM to 11:00PM.

Making Waves with Water Conservation at Osceola County
For the entire month of August, the Osceola County Historical Society will be holding an exhibit to highlight the importance in protecting and restoring the waters of Florida. Drop by the Osceola County Welcome Center & History Museum any time from 9:00AM to 5:00PM.

Little Darlin's Street Party & Cruise-In at Old Town
Relive the fun and dancing of the 50’s and the 60’s in Old Town on August 3. Join the Wednesday Night tradition called “The Stroll,” a popular line dance from a famous 50’s show called the American Bandstand. This will be the last day to catch Little Darlin's Street Party & Cruise-In, so join the party in Old Town at 6:00PM.

All-American Muscle Car Cruise at Old Town
Your favorite muscle cars will be on display at Old Town on August 5 at 8:30pm. The All-American Muscle Car Cruise will feature show-quality, American-made Muscle Cars from the 1960’s, as well as the American classics from the 1980s and older. This will be the display’s last Friday, so be sure to catch it.

MUSIC

Sanford Jazz Ensemble
Catch the performance of the Sanford Jazz Ensemble, a volunteer community orchestra dedicated to preserve the Big Band Jazz Tradition. Enjoy music from the classic swing era to today’s contemporary jazz styles on August 7 at the Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center.

OUTCRY Summer 2016 Tour
The tour features a unique combination of artists and worship leaders performing together on one stage. See performances from Hillsong Worship, Kari Jobe, Rend Collective, Housefires, Urban Rescue, and Chad Veach at the CFE Arena on August 13 at 6:00PM.

The Goo Goo Dolls, Collective Soul, and Tribe Society
The Goo Goo Dolls and Collective Soul are making their way to Hard Rock Live for their summer tour along with Tribe Society as their opening act. Do not miss the chance to see two of the most popular bands of the 90s. Tickets are available from multiple vendors.

Cirque Du Soleil La Nouba Orlando

Fun Home

The Orlando Fire Museum building itself is history. This is also known as the Orlando Firehouse Number 3 and dates back to 1926. It serves as a house for artifacts and a memorial for fallen firefighters. It has been restored and renovated since, but it still possesses the charm of the old fire fighter’s life. The restoration itself took 15 years.

Their collections include restored fire engines like a 1911 horse-drawn steam pumper, a 1919 LaFrance ladder truck, a 1915 LaFrance Fire Engine, a 1950 Apopka Fire Department engine and many other firefighting collections. The gears exhibited include dress uniforms, bomb suits, old metal fire hats and a variety of bells and whistles.

Furthermore, it features a display of documents and photographs that showcases the services provided by firefighters over the decades. It also houses a memorial for all firefighters who perished and sacrificed their lives in the name of service. The museum is also dedicated in hosting events where they feature their collections and at the same time offering re-enactments of old-fashioned bucket brigades.

This building was built in 1927 and had served as Orlando’s main courthouse for many years. After a new high-rise courthouse was built in 1995, the building was converted into a regional history museum. It has been refurbished and reorganized and has since then became a recipient of various national awards.

This museum is considered to be one of Florida’s preeminent cultural institutions. The Orange County Regional History Center made it its mission to honor the past, explore the present, and shape the future with its exhibits of arts.

This museum was formally opened to the public in 2000 and is operated by the nonprofit Historical Society of Central Florida, Inc. and Orange County. Some of the galleries within the museum include the Hispanic Heritage, Seventies in Central Florida, Women Making History, The Ralph Bagley Collection and Live Sculpting in Chocolate.
