Within the walls of this 5-level science center located in Loch Haven Park in Orlando is a fun and interactive learning and discovery experience with hundreds of exhibits, labs, programs, and big screen films.

The Orlando Science Center provides fun and interesting opportunities for learning even outside its walls with field trips, outreach programs, and family science nights at schools and community centers.

Designed to meet national, state and local science and math curricula, the Orlando Science Center is also based on constructivist learning theory. All of the exhibits in the Science Center correlate with Florida’s Sunshine State Standards and National Science Standards

The Orlando Science Center’s facilities were designed and built by traditional museum exhibit designers and fabricators in collaboration with theme park designers and fabricators to provide guests with hands-on and interactive learning and discovery experiences.

  • Crosby Observatory which has the state’s largest refractor telescope (accessible to the public)

Science Stations
Science Stations are located all throughout the facility and are a cross between the exhibits and live programs. Science Stations are exhibits that give guests an in depth look at their subjects in an entertaining way that brings the exhibits to life.

Crosby Observatory
The Crosby Observatory sits atop the Orlando Science Center and is home to Florida's largest refractor telescope that is accessible to the public. This custom-built telescope in one of a kind and is available at particular times for solar and night sky viewing.

Calling all nerds and those interested in nerd culture and music, the Orlando Science Center will be hosting the Orlando Nerd Fest on August 8-9, 2015. This is an annual event is open for everyone interested in nerd-related music, including Nerdcore, Anime, J-Pop, K-Pop, LMNOP-Pop, VGM, Chiptune, Steampunk, Comedy, etc.

The nerd in you will enjoy live performances and artwork displays, Sci Fi, Fantasy, video games, and more! Tickets to the Orlando Nerd Fest includes admission to the event and to the Mummies of the World exhibit. Proceeds from tickets sales will help Orlando Science Center’s mission to inspire science learning for life.

23rd Annual Track Shack’s Celebration of Running 5K

August 15, 2015, 7:30AM

The Annual Celebration of Running 5K presented by the Track Shack Foundation and Florida Hospital will be held across from the Orlando Science Center at Orlando Cultural Park.

Participants can walk or run the 3.1-mile course located throughout the outskirts of downtown Orlando. Participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt, a finisher’s medal, ice-cold refreshments, Florida Hospital’s interactive health screenings and special prizes awarded to significant finishers at the end of the race.

Kids of all ages can also run for free at the Healthy 100 Kids' Run. Kids will be placed in age groups and distances range from 100 yards to one mile. The first 125 registered participants will receive a T-shirt.

This is a great way to stay fit while enjoying the scenic route in Orlando while supporting the Orlando Science Center at the same time.
