Some responsibilities of successful candidates include planning of other unique programs to be offered, advertising and promotion of the different clubs for student enlistment and retention, and providing a safe environment for the students.  Commitment to their schedule is also a must, together with making sure that the class is fun.  Though not required, it is highly preferable for the people who would be holding this position to make themselves available 3 days a week for after school programs.

To be accommodated for this post, you must be free to work from 1:30 P.M. to 6:15 P.M. every Wednesday.  There ought to be the desire to work with children and the skill to communicate with both the students and their parents.  Another requirement for this post would be a certification in First Aid or CPR.  If you meet most of the criteria but do not have First Aid certification, know that you can go through training at the Central Florida branch, which provides the said training for those who want to be certified.

2. Co-Teachers / Youth Mentors / Child Development of the YMCA Before and After School Elementary Programs
This is a year-round position that ensures the effective and organized flow of the elementary programs, supervises students from levels K to 5, and guarantees the success of the program.  This curriculum promotes the nurturing of the child’s physical, social, emotional, and spiritual growth in a safe environment.  Regular before-school working hours are from 7 A.M. to 8:30 A.M., while after-school hours are from 3 P.M. to 6 P.M.  There are three shifts for this position: before school, after school, or split – the latter being a combination of before and after school hours.  During summer, successful candidates have the option to work eight to ten weeks in the Summer Camp.

If you are enthusiastic, committed, and responsible, this post might be the right job for you.  If you are burdened to positively impact children, have the desire to supervise and work with them, and can effectively communicate with them, you can turn that passion into action by applying for this job vacancy.  If you don’t have certification in CPR/AED and First Aid, you can check out the training conducted by YMCA.

Here are the YMCA locations that have an immediate need of people for this post: Wyndham Lake Elementary and schools in Winter Park, Lake Nona, and Windermere.

Ensuring the safety of the children and guiding them are another set of the major responsibilities as camp counselor.
